2015 Commercial Energy Code
After completing the course, attendees will:
- Understand the major changes between the Energy Conservation Construction Code of 2013 and the Energy Conservation and Construction Code of 2010 for commercial buildings,
- Be able to use the ECCC 2013 to resolve questions and issues that arise during plan review, field inspection, and in addressing questions posed by contractors, design professionals, etc., and
- Recognize the relationship between Energy Code provisions and best building practices – “the whys” behind the ECCC NYS code provisions for commercial buildings.
This course is designed to provide participants with a practical knowledge of how the new ECCCNYS is to be implemented in the built environment. The focus will be on commercial implementation. This course will go through the differences between the 2010 code and the 2013 code in such a way as to highlight the opportunities for energy savings. Participants will be exposed to the most significant changes in the code, and the implications as they apply to building practices. Attendees will be reminded of the underlying physics driving code changes when appropriate.
